GTC Summer Theater Camp

July 27 @ 8:15 am July 31 @ 3:00 pm

Give your young performer a week to shine at GTC’s Summer Theater Camp! This fun, supportive program introduces students to the fundamentals of theater through acting, music, dance, and improvisation. Campers will build confidence, creativity, and teamwork skills while working together on a short play and musical review. The week wraps up with a free showcase on Friday at 1pm for family and friends—plus a light celebration to recognize all their hard work!

What you’ll do (and love!) this week:

  • Dance basics
  • Music lessons
  • Acting exercises
  • Costume & set design
  • Confidence building
  • Quick thinking skills (improvisation)

Family discounts and scholarships are available to help make camp accessible to all.

SCHEDULE FOR THE WEEK

8:15 AM
High-protein breakfast snack to get you started.

8:30 AM – Improv Class
We’ll start our day by learning and improving improvisational skills with the amazing Sara Hague. This is always a favorite with Sara’s students!

9:30 AM – Blocking
Local author Emmalyn Lamb has written a short play, A Tale of Craft Supplies, which we will perform at the end of the week. Debbra Anderson will guide students in learning blocking, memorizing lines, and helping create sets and costumes for this fun play.

Across the street at Laurel Park, students can enjoy a sack lunch from home or join other kids in the community free lunch program.

A high-energy, toe-tapping musical experience! Students will explore singing, choreography, staging, and musical performance (for both beginners and advanced performers) with the talented Danielle Mumford.
